WiiM Pro Plus: a multiroom track-change check after 4.8.833841

Use the same rooms, tracks and grouping to see whether a previously observed transition noise recurs.

Separate the release note from the test

WiiM’s notes for 4.8.833841 describe a fix for noise during playback of certain tracks in multiroom groups. If your symptom occurs at track changes, test that transition separately. SoundPath Lab checked that note on 4 November. Its 7 September test used an earlier build, so that test and its unresolved findings remain separate from the manufacturer’s claim.

Run the same sequence

Start with a low listening level. Write down the lead player, grouped rooms, app version and installed firmware. Play the same track pair and change tracks in the same order. Compare with a single-room run using the same output. If the symptom is intermittent, record how many transitions reproduced it.

Keep the result tied to the setup

A quiet run is useful evidence for the rooms and build you tested. Keep the previous observation alongside the new run, including which speaker or output made the sound. If it persists, share the reproduction steps with the support contact you already use.
